Permanent Lighting FAQ

The lights
What is permanent lighting?
It’s a row of LED lights mounted in a low-profile track along your roofline. The track is color-matched to your trim, so it blends in during the day. At night you control the lights from an app: any color, any brightness, on a schedule or on demand. The lights stay up year-round, so you never hang holiday lights again.
Can I see the lights during the day?
The track sits under the roof edge and is matched to your trim, so from the street it’s hard to notice. We bring a sample to the design visit so you can see it against your own house.
Can the lights do more than Christmas?
Yes. Each light can be a different color, so the same system handles every holiday, team colors on game day, parties, and a soft warm white for everyday curb appeal.
How do I control the lights?
With an app on your phone. You can pick colors and effects, save scenes, and set schedules so the lights turn on and off by themselves. Several people in the household can usually use the app.
What happens if the Wi-Fi or power goes out?
The lights need power to run, so they’ll be off during a power outage and pick back up when it returns. Schedules and some controls rely on Wi-Fi. Ask about it at your design visit if it matters to you.
Quotes and the process
How much does permanent lighting cost?
Every system is built for a specific house, so the price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, the number of peaks and corners, and the controller setup. We give you a written quote after measuring at your free design visit, and we don’t guess at prices without seeing the house.
Is the design visit really free?
Yes. The design visit and your written quote are free, and you’re under no obligation.
How long does installation take?
Many single-family homes are installed in a day. Larger homes, complex rooflines and commercial buildings can take longer. We give you an expected timeline with your quote.
Do I need to be home for the installation?
Someone needs to be there at the start to give access to power and at the end for the walkthrough, where we set up the app and show you how everything works.
Do I need HOA approval?
Many HOAs require approval for exterior changes, and some have rules about lighting colors or display dates. Check your guidelines before installation. We can provide product details, track colors and photos to include with your application.
Do you offer a warranty?
Warranty coverage depends on the system and components. We’ll give you the warranty details in writing with your quote.
Weather and care
Can permanent lights handle North Texas weather?
The lights and track are built for outdoor use year-round, including summer heat and winter cold. A direct hit from large hail or a falling limb can still damage a section, and we can repair it if that happens.
Will installation damage my roof?
The track mounts to the fascia or roof edge, not through the face of your shingles. We check the mounting surface at the design visit and tell you about anything that needs attention before we install.
What if I need a new roof later?
Call us before the roof work starts. We can take the lights and track down and reinstall them once the new roof is on.
Do you repair systems you didn’t install?
Often, yes, depending on the brand and whether parts are available. Send us photos and the brand name, and we’ll let you know.
